Manushi Chhillar of India has won the Miss World beauty pageant title for the year 2017. She was crowned by the former Miss World, Stephanie del Valle of Puerto Rico. The dazzling finale of Miss World  2017 was held in Sanya, China on Saturday, November 18. For Indians the much cherished win comes after a long 17 years gap. Manushi is the sixth Indian to win the title and the first since Priyanka Chopra who brought the title back in the year 2000. Andrea Meza, Miss Mexico was the first runner up while Stephanie Hill from England was the second runner up. Around 108 women from across the globe participated in the beauty pageant.

Previously she was crowned Femina Miss India 2017 on 25 June 2017. The 20-year old Manushi Chhillar hails from Haryana, India. She studied in St. Thomas School in New Delhi and Bhagat Phool Singh Government Medical College for Women in Sonipat. Manushi is currently studying for a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery. Manushi aims to be a cardiac surgeon and has plans of opening non-profit hospitals in rural areas. She is a trained classical dancer and has a passion for outdoor sports like scuba diving, snorkelling and bungee jumping.
