Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, the Miss South Africa has been crowned Miss Universe 2017. The 66^th edition of Miss Universe pageant was held on November 26, 2017 at The AXIS at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. The show was hosted by Steve Harvey and Ashley Graham. The former Miss Universe Iris Mittenaere of France crowned Demi-Leigh Nel-Peter. Miss Colombia Laura González secured first runner-up position while Miss Jamaica Davina Bennett became the second runner-up. This year ninety two women from around the world participated in the competition.

Manushi Chhillar Crowned Miss World 2017

Manushi Chhillar of India has won the Miss World beauty pageant title for the year 2017. She was crowned by the former Miss World, Stephanie del Valle of Puerto Rico. The dazzling finale of Miss World  2017 was held in Sanya, China on Saturday, November 18. For Indians the much cherished win comes after a long 17 years gap. Manushi is the sixth Indian to win the title and the first since Priyanka Chopra who brought the title back in the year 2000. Andrea Meza, Miss Mexico was the first runner up while Stephanie Hill from England was the second runner up. Around 108 women from across the globe participated in the beauty pageant.

Previously she was crowned Femina Miss India 2017 on 25 June 2017. The 20-year old Manushi Chhillar hails from Haryana, India. She studied in St. Thomas School in New Delhi and Bhagat Phool Singh Government Medical College for Women in Sonipat. Manushi is currently studying for a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery.
